Hello America!

Many of you have heard about the recent deaths of black celebrities by now, tell me what you think about the media coverage.  

Jackson and McNair are two that come to mind that leave me a bit confused.  

On one hand, they both at times have  been persecuted by the public for actions they did or didn’t take, and on another hand, they have been assailed as being great heroes and role models and even as some of our most recently greatest contributors to society.

I would like to know what you think about how they are remembered, because I don’t know.

This is the intial launch of my new blog.  What you will find here is content from a red blooded American whose ethnicity is black.  What I will bring to you is an insight to how and what I think about many issues relating to America from my perspective as a Black American from the Midwest.  I do not expect everyone will agree with my views, whether you are black or non-black, but I will give you an honest insight into what I feel.

This will not be a blog where hatred is promoted.  We will ignore and/or delete posts that attempt this.

This will not be a blog where blame is placed or excuses promoted.  We will challenge assumptions, provide educational opportunities (at least from our perspective), and hope to enlighten each other as we progress.

This will not be a blog that has the expectation that we will all come together in the end.  It is through our differences that keep us interesting.

This will not be a blog that is trying to convince you what is right or what is wrong.  I will share with you my thoughts, but you have to make your own determination of what you value.

This will be a blog that I hope will make you think about what you think about and the way you think about it.
